First look at new reels

-

ANY reel by Daiwa is a thing of beauty and an object of desire.

Matchmen yearn to spin the handles of the famed TDRs, TDXs and Certates, while carpers gaze lovingly at Basias, Isos and the evergreen Tournament S. Their adoration is shared by hardened big-fish men, who swoon at the sight of a Cast’izm.

These reels do all have one problem, though – they don’t come cheap. If you don’t have the spondoolies, what’s the answer?

Fear not, as you take a long hard look at the main images on this page. These beauties are the very latest Daiwa 18 Ninja LT (Light & Tough) models which come at a fraction of the price of their aristocratic sisters.

They are high in specification, and perform at a level way beyond what their price tag would suggest. Key features include graphite bodies and rotors, tough Digigear mechanisms, reliable ATDA front-drag systems, Air-Bail, and a new line-friendly line clip.

Light and easy to handle, they are tough as hippo hide, well able to shrug off the odd hard knock.

They come in six sizes from 2000 to 6000, and double handle versions are available too. I reckon the Ninja LT is a front-runner to be the reel of the year, and will be Daiwa’s best seller in match circles.

Price: £64.99
