WORM RIGS

Maggots might grab the bulk of the headlines when it comes to winter carp catches, but it is worth remembering the immense pulling power of worms too. You can tie up a Medusa rig using small dendrobaenas just as easily as with maggots, and if anything this gives a larger, more visible bait.

Be careful if you plan to add chopped worms to your PVA stick mix as the worm juices will quickly melt the material. Add a handful of Stick Mix or dry groundbait to the chopped worms to remove the moisture before making up your sticks.

Maggot clips are also ideal for creating worm Medusa rigs.
