Use a small flour sieve to riddle off any maize flour that your maggots have been stored in. 1
To spread out the maggots and add more attraction, add some Stick Mix to them. 3
2 Add a teaspoonful of PVA-friendly syrup to each pint of maggots so they won’t dissolve your sticks.
A palmful of breakdown pellets introduces more attraction without feeding up the carp. 4
5 Use a handful of bait made up of maggots, Stick Mix and pellets to each PVA stick.
Leave a 1ins tag end to the PVA to allow room for the hook to be nicked into it when you rig up. 7
Loosely fill the bag. This will ensure that it melts faster than a tightly-packed stick. 6
