CROATIA JULY 11, 8pm, ITV4
The action in this episode was so frantic that it had to be turned into a 90-minute special!
In stunning surroundings the trio start by fishing an up-andcoming lake known as Tribalj, and are soon experiencing fast and furious sport.
This is just a warm up to the main event on the outskirts of the capital city, Zagreb.
It’s not long before Ali, Tom and Neil are hauling large numbers of big carp, and one of them is lucky enough to slip his net under one of the sought-after monsters that Lake Ontario is known for - it’s unmissable stuff!
SLOVENIA JULY 18, 8pm, ITV4
The adventure starts on Vogrscek, a large dammed lake close to the Italian border, where a legendary, but rarely-caught common carp named ‘Toro’ resides. They’d have to be incredibly lucky to catch the lake’s biggest fish in just a few days, but given their track record you never know…
The trio then travel to a large park lake called Smartinsko, which produced the current record fish.
ITALY JULY 25, 8pm, ITV4
Italy is renowned for its big carp, and in particular huge commons. First stop is a beautiful lake in the mountains, near Bologna, which is home to stunning fish with the chance of a ‘fifty’. Their next venue is a very tough prospect - a large, wild, lake with a reputation for being tricky, but if they do get it right then the rewards are definitely there as it is home to some very big carp. Before they start there’s just time to have a go at traditional Italian pizza making, and whoever impresses the restaurant owner the most gets the pick of the swims!
FRANCE AUGUST 1, 8pm, ITV4
France is a Mecca for UK carp anglers and much of that stems from 1980s pioneering trips to places like Lac de Saint-Cassien which quickly became the most famous carp water in the world.
It’s somewhere the trio have grown up reading about, but had never fished... until now!
The fishing proves hard, but one of them, fishing from Ellis Point – named after Kevin Ellis who caught a 76lb monster from there in 1986 – experiences a bit of history of their own when they land a huge fish for the cameras. But which one of the team got the Cassien monster?
