WHAT A START!

RICARDO Napoli has only just recently taken up fishing and this is his first-ever chub – and what a fish it is!

Fishing with his uncle, Catch22 regular Vito Napoli, on the Great Ouse, the youngster employed classic lobworm tactics on a classic Allcocks cane rod to tempt the specimen.

The pair took four fish between them, three of which were over 5lb, during their trip.

Vito told Angling Times: “During the fight Ricardo was that excited he forgot to breathe!”

POLE PAYS

TOM Pollard fished pole with double red maggots at Brookfield Pond and caught this super roach.

SUNSET MIRROR

THIS personal best mirror carp kicked off Richard Lambert’s 2019 Catch22 challenge in style.

It took floating bread during an evening session at Woodland Lakes, Thirsk and marked the start of the Lambert family challenge.

Richard said: “Just want to say thank you for this list. It’s something myself, brother and dad are doing together.”

15 TARGETS TICKED OFF!

TEN-year-old Jessica West is absolutely flying through her Catch22 Challenge checklist, and this fabulous chub from the River Wey is her latest capture.

Taken during a roaming session with her dad, Brian, the impressive fish fell to simple floating bread tactics.

Jessica has already ticked off 15 of the 2019 targets, including some toughies like ‘Perch over 1lb’ and ‘Carp over 10lb’, and hopes to track down a ruffe, barbel, pike, and bleak during her next fishing trips – good luck!
