WARMWELL LEISURE, WEYMOUTH, DORSET

SEVENTY-one-year-old Alan Stacey enjoyed his session on Kingfisher Lake at Parkdean’s Warmwell Park in Dorset – where he caught this personal-best perch of 2lb.

Alan fished the pole in the margins with two maggots presented on a size 16 hook to catch the fish.

There are three beautiful lakes at Warmwell, all stocked with a variety of coarse species.

The on-site tackle shop can even provide all the equipment you need and tuition for those looking to give fishing a go for the first time.

STANWICK LAKES, WELLINGBOROUGH, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

RICHIE Evans and his son love having family fishing sessions at Northamptonshire’s Stanwick Lakes complex – and who can blame them?

Day-ticket carp anglers can enjoy some fantastic fishing on Elsons and Mallard Lakes. Elsons is a sixacre water with 15 known 30lb-plus carp to just over 40lb.

The 25-peg Mallard Lake is a great water to bag your first twenty, and also has fish over 30lb present.

Spend time leading around for a hard spot, then give them a decent helping of boilies and pellets at this time of year. Contact: 07974 300015 Postcode: NN9 6GD

HOME FARM FISHERIES, ALSAGER, CHESHIRE

LES Stewart caught this beast of a catfish while fishing at Cheshire’s Home Farm Fisheries with his family.

The two-lake complex is stocked with 17 different species of fish, the biggest being specimen carp to 28lb and monster catfish to 70lb.

Those who like to fish for something a little smaller will also find plenty of bites forthcoming on the Match Pool.
