Guide to top Broads waters

Top autumn sport on five venues

-

THE Broads region of Eastern England contains some of Britain’s best fisheries, and at this time of year they offer some sensational fishing, with big bags of roach and bream on offer.

But where do you start on this vast water system? Rivers such as the Bure, Thurne, Ant and Waveney all offer exceptional sport but, as on all venues, some sections are better than others.

This week we’ve highlighted some of our favourite spots for anyone looking to sample some exceptional sport in this idyllic part of the country. It’ll put you in with a great chance of bagging up on the Broads! 1 RIVER THURNE

The Thurne at Martham, Norfolk, is a fantastic bit of river, where skimmers, roach and perch can all be caught on a wide range of tactics. Park in the boatyard at Martham, where you’ll need £4 for the pay and display machine. There are also stretches at Potter Heigham and Cold Harbour that can be very good.
