OBJECT OF DESIRE Sticky Krill Active boilies

STICKY KRILL ACTIVE BOILIES

-

EVERY carp angler out there is fully aware of the devastating effectiveness of Sticky’s Krill boilie range. So, when rumours began surfacing that the company was developing an upgrade to this popular bait, we were eager to learn more.

This month, the new Sticky boss, Dan Wildbore, shares some of the secrets of this fresh bait, which looks set to take the carp world by storm in the near future…

The cloud effect

“I can’t divulge in too much detail how the product is made, but I can explain what it creates.

“You have the Krill boilie, with added liquid attractors pumped into the bait.

Once the bait has this coating of liquid, powders are added to the process.

“Over time, the baits end up with a pastewrapped coating which is full of attraction. The key to all this is the solubility of the powders and liquids. These will leak off and break down around the bait.

“This leaves you with a pile of boilies, plus a carpet of powders and a liquid haze surrounding the baited area. The level of attraction coming off this is totally unparalleled compared to anything else that has been used in the bait world before.”

Keep them coming back for more

“The pulling power of the bait is not done on dextrose and pH change. Rather the attraction is formed on an amino acid compound, which is how carp detect food.

“If you change the pH of the water through sugars and so on, yes, carp will investigate. This is naturally what they do and the only way of finding out what it is, is to suck it in.

“If we created something that the carp can detect on pH change alone, however, they wouldn’t come back and keep feeding. This is why highly attractive fruit flavours work well for hookbaits, but are much less effective as free offerings.”

It’s all about aminos

“The best way of attracting a carp into the swim is through amino acids and that is what the Krill Active does perfectly. This brings everything to the party, including smaller fish.

“The frenzied feeding activity spreads the food signal even further and lets off vibrations, which entices the carp to investigate. Once they are close, they are well aware of what is going on and begin to feed.”

An instant hit

“This bait is packed with nutrition and, in our eyes, the ultimate boilie. It is an improvement on the Krill boilie, which is why we are releasing it. We don’t make new baits for the sake of it and have always said that the only time we would release a new fishmeal is if it bettered what we already had. In this instance, we believe we have done it. Some mind-blowing results have already been achieved by our anglers testing it!”
