STRUNG-OUT SHOTTING

-

YOU may want to get the bait down quickly to the bottom in deeper water, but what happens to it in the final few feet of the swim will decide how well you catch.

Roach will watch the hookbait fall, so putting all the float’s shot close to the hook won’t work. Instead, string several small shot out equally under the olivette or bulk to let the bait sink slowly in front of the fish. On light pole rigs with no bulk, all the shot can be strung out across the final 3ft of the rig.
