YES, but only with a natural type of bait, ideally a lobworm, either fished whole or as a worm kebab so that it leaks out plenty of flavour.

Another good option would be a bunch of maggots, popped up an inch or so off the bottom. I’d use a small light lead, and feather it down once it’s hit the surface so that it doesn’t spook the feeding fish too much. Mike Lyddon
