The in-form Monk Lakes, Kent

MONK Lakes is a magnet for anglers of all disciplines, and Lake Two at the Kent complex has been in blistering form since fishing returned following lockdown.

It’s easy to see why the 46-peg pool is proving so popular, as it offers visitors the chance to put together bumper mixed bags while fishing from the comfort of platforms, and all within easy walking distance of the car park.

Lots of different tactics will work, and the diverse stocking policy means big weights of carp, F1s, tench, bream, roach and even chub are always on the cards. Track them down using this guide so that you can rock up and start bagging from the word go! The lake is split into two arms and the depths are significantly different on both. The arm nearest to the car park is the deeper side and it averages between 5ft and 7ft. Set up on the opposite side and you can expect to find 4ft when plumbing up in open water. The latter is usually prolific in the warmer months, with the biggest carp and F1s residing here throughout summer.
