From September 1, Mirfield offers its yearbooks at half price, giving you some great value fishing. There’s loads to try on this ticket, with the River Calder being one of the club’s star venues. There are also large reservoirs offering great fishing in spectacular scenery.

NORTHAMPTON NENE AC, NORTHANTS
You can get half-price membership to Northampton Nene AC from December 1. In addition to canals and stillwaters, the club also has numerous stretches of the River Nene and Great Ouse, offering a great chance of specimen chub and silvers. Price: £19 adult membership
IZAAK WALTON STAFFORD ANGLERS ASSOCIATION, STAFFORDSHIRE
Alongside numerous pits, where you can find everything from roach to carp, Izaak Walton AA also offers a stretch of the mighty River Trent, as well as two stretches of the intimate River Sow. This small river is the perfect place for a day’s chubbing, and you can fish it on a reduced winter ticket.

SYWELL COUNTRY PARK, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
Although best known for its tench, Sywell is also home to some huge pike, with fish to more than 30lb reported. A winter campaign on here could bring some spectacular results. It offers a dedicated winter pike ticket for half the price of its usual season ticket.

ASHTON KEYNES AC, GLOUCESTERSHIRE
