HOW do you improve on the already brilliant when it comes to a seatbox? Take a look at Matrix’s brand new XR36 Comp models, offering anglers two boxes in different colours, both packing the same range of great features and total reliability.

Taking the award-winning XR36 Pro box, Matrix added yet more quality and value, basing the Comp around an H-frame with 36mm legs. The frame is easily adjusted to suit the height of all anglers to ensure they fish in comfort.

As with the XR36 Pro there’s a deep side drawer unit with insert trays, but a new feature is a deep inbuilt base to house hooklengths boxes, larger bits of kits and even feeder boxes.

The 36mm legs, each with an accessories thread, will take most add-ons on the market. They extend to make the box level on all terrains or when fishing in the water. Fiddly handwheels are a thing of the past. Instead, enlarged rubber grips on each leg allow even the coldest of hands to tighten things up securely.

Each mudfoot is also wide enough for great grip in the worst bankside conditions UK venues can throw at you.

On the footplate front, you’ve got the option of removing it completely in just seconds via the single-handed footplate release mechanism. The plate is made of stern stuff, with a highly-durable textured plastic cover with a built-in spirit level – there’s another spirit level in the seat to make sure the box is never on the slide!

Finishing touches are a PU fabric-covered seat cushion and removable, adjustable deluxe padded shoulder strap.
