Walker welcomed by family

-

AN ORMSARY family lent a helping hand to a long-distance charity walker, by letting her stay with them for the weekend.

Matt Donald and Kirsty Young hosted Natalia Spencer, 41, as she conquers the British coastline, on foot, in memory of her five year old daughter Elizabeth who tragically passed away in December of last year.

Natalia is doing the 6,000 mile walk to raise money for chil-House, dren’s hospital charity The Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal, which helps to support other critically ill children. She was 149 days into her walk when she stayed in Ormsary, where she managed to go lobster catching and mackerel fishing. Natalia, with the help of 2,000 supporters and donators has raised £64,444 – she aims to reach £100,000 by the end of her journey. Natalia is still making her way along the West Coast.

Having stayed with a family in Ardrishaig on Monday morning she then made her way to Oban. Natalia set off from Dorset on Valentine’s day this year.

The Wallace and Gro- mit Grand Appeal is a children’s hospital charity that provides life-saving equipment, accommodation for families, and different methods of therapy for ill children and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
