Sponsored tournament at golf club

- EH.

LOCHGILPHEAD Golf Club was treated to a busy afternoon when TW Scaffolding sponsored one of its competitions.

Members enjoyed an AM-AM tournament on Saturday with prizes, including bestdressed team and golf skill awards, up for grabs. There was a special prize of a car for a hole in one but no-one managed to win this. As well as golf there was a free barbecue and golfers’ families were made very welcome.

Dancing

The day was rounded off by evening entertainment provided by None the Wiser who have to be thanked for their performance which had golfers and their families dancing the night away. It was a great day enjoyed by everyone and the club is already looking forward to next year’s event.

The club would like to thank TW Scaffolding for running this event, in particular Simon Taylor who was the driving force behind it. The club would also like to thank Simon’s family and friends who worked tirelessly to make the day such a success and committee members who supported Simon.

A special mention has to go to Simon for completing 18 holes. Well done, hopefully the first of many.

Sunday was the MacAulay cup, a competition raising money for children’s charity CHAS. The winner in the gents was Douglas Whyte with 40 points, the runner up was Andy Law with 39 and Alex MacAulay placed third with 34 points.

Alex and Jenny MacAulay raise funds for this worthy charity every year and the club is honoured to support them.
