THE LOCH Fyne Hotel gets in a lather as singing soap stars pay a charity visit.

SOAP stars swapped the Yorkshire Dales for the hills of Argyll in a unique charity event.

A fabulous foursome from Emmerdale – Gemma Atkinson, Michelle Hardwick, Laura North and Amy Walsh – helped raise more than £5,400 for a cancer charity.

Performing a live set as the ‘Emmerdolls’ at the Loch Fyne Hotel in Inveraray, they were joined by show favourite Dominic Blunt, who plays vet Paddy Kirk.

In all, £5,475 was raised for Bloodwise, formally known as Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, during a weekend of fun which also featured Top Gear’s ‘The Stig’ and the opportunity for guests to take a spin in some of the finest cars in the world.

Bloodwise has been working to beat blood cancer since 1960. It funds world-class research and provides practical and emotional support to patients and their loved ones.

Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa is owned by Crerar Hotels, which donates up to 50 per cent of the group’s distributable profits to local charities.

Marc Gardner, general manager of the Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa, said: ‘We had a dazzling weekend with the stars of Emmerdale. It was fantastic to raise over £5,400 for Bloodwise. We’re committed to the community in which we live and work, and so being able to present members of the Dunoon branch of Bloodwise with this cheque was a great privilege. You might even say, it was doll-lightful.’
