Trio of musical talent coming to Ardrishaig

-

Saturday at 3pm in Ardrishaig Public Hall sees the first Mid Argyll Arts Association concert of 2017.

Performing will be the Bardic Trio, and the audience can look forward to a fusion of folk and classical music.

The trio comprises Scottish tenor Jamie MacDougall, guitarist Matthew McAllister and Welsh harpist Sharron Griffiths.

Glasgow-born Jamie has, since 2001, been the nation’s voice for classical music on BBC radio Scotland, presenting Grace

Notes and Classics Unwrapped. His voice can regularly be heard presenting for BBC radio 3 and for 15 years has anchored the BBC Proms in the Park. Away from broadcasting, Jamie continues to enjoy a busy singing career that takes him round the world from Australia to Mexico.

Matthew is widely regarded as one of the most exciting and talented classical guitarists in Europe. He has been delighting audiences worldwide with his insightful performances and effortless presentation in a concert career spanning well over a decade.

Welsh-born Sharron is in great demand as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician in recitals both on the concert platform and recording TV and radio broadcasts. She is a lecturer in pedal harp at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and harp tutor for the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.

Sure to be a concert to remember, it gets under way at 3pm on Saturday January 14. Tickets cost £12 or £10 for concessions, and children and students are free.
