The Glasgow Celtic Society Cup, first contested in 1879, will once again be supported by Gregor Cameron Consultancy Ltd.

Announcing the sponsorship deal, the Glasgow Celtic Society also revealed that the Celtic Cup final will be held on Saturday June 24 at Taynuilt Sports Hub.

Glasgow Celtic Society chairman, John MacLeod, said: ‘We are thrilled that Gregor Cameron has further invested in our competition for this year. He has been an avid supporter of our game and has shown real commitment to the competition and the Taynuilt Sports Hub in the past two years. I would like to thank him for his support and we are delighted to be working with him for another year.’

‘I am absolutely delighted to continue our alliance with this fantastic competition,’ said Gregor Cameron.

He added: ‘This will be our third year of involvement and we are all looking forward to returning to the Taynuilt Sports Hub this June. The past two cup finals have provided fans with exciting shinty encounters and I am sure this year will provide more of the same.’

In the cup draw, the trophy holders and 31-time Celtic Cup winners Kyles Athletic will take on Kilmory or Taynuilt in the quarter finals.

John Macleod said: ‘This year’s draw has thrown up some exciting ties, which I am sure all teams will be looking forward to. Last year’s final was exciting for all shinty fans and Taynuilt provided excellent facilities, so we are delighted to return there for what we hope will be another memorable shinty match.’
