Wrestlers will wrangle in the ring for one night only

-

STARS of British wrestling are set to grapple in the Wee Toon again next month.

Last year, Megaslam, Europe’s largest wrestling organisation, toured Scotland for the first time and visited Campbeltown. On Thursday March 19, the company is back at the Victoria Hall, from 6.15pm, as part of a planned 300-plus date UK tour.

Megaslam owner Brad Taylor threw his hat into the promotional ring in 2009 with a small show in Rotherham.

Since then the company has presented more than 1,000 shows across the British Isles and often features some of the most recognisable names in world wrestling.

Taylor, 25, was once a competitor himself before stopping in-ring competition in 2014 to focus on promoting.

He said: ‘It was great that British wrestling returned to TV screens on New Year’s Eve. Our stars, in my opinion, are the best wrestlers in the world and they deserved to be in the limelight.’

Megaslam wrestling promises two hours of family entertainment on the night with a wide range of stars and matches.

Stars already booked include: Megaslam British champion CJ Banks from Liverpool, who has held the championship since February 2016, Mexican sensation El Ligero, who has competed in rings around the globe for 15 years, WWE UK’s Sam Gradwell and Saxon Huxley and fun-loving Merseyside star Dancing Danny will also be on the bill.

Ladies feature too with Megaslam champion Lizzy Styles battling it out with Ruby Summers.

Taylor added: ‘Our show features every- thing you need to have a fantastic evening out as a family.

‘We are excited to bring the show back to Campbeltown as we had a great time last year.

‘I would strongly advise people to book tickets in advance as the request was unbe- lievable to bring the show back. We love Kintyre – it is a great setting for our shows.’

Tickets, which are limited, are available to purchase from the Aqualibrium.
