Kilmory face Glenorchy hurdle on road to the Bught

-

KILMORY kickstart their Camanachd Cup campaign trail with a tricky home tie against Glenorchy. The Lochgilphead men are looking to avenge last season’s defeat in the Bullough Cup final to Tayforth by laying down a good run in the biggest cup competition of the year.

The winner of this preliminary tie will face Taynuilt in the following round, meaning that a South Division 1 team is certain to compete in the second round of the cup.

The 2017 Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup preliminary and first round draws took place at the Bught Park, Inverness ,on Monday March 20. The ten Premiership clubs, including Kyles Athletic and holders Newtonmore, enter the competition at the second round stage which isn’t drawn until after the first round ties.

Keith Loades, vice president of the Camanachd Association, said: ‘With Kilmory or Glenorchy drawn against Taynuilt, this will guarantee that one South Division 1 club will enter the second round where they may face premiership opposition.’
