Loch Fyne Food Fair celebrates the best of west coast produce
A FEAST of west coast delicacies will be found at the Loch Fyne Food Fair this weekend.
Taking place at the head of Loch Fyne on this Saturday and Sunday, the food fair offers the chance to enjoy fresh local produce against a backdrop of stunning views and live music.
At the heart of the festival is the bustling food tent, where seafood fanatics will be squeezing on to tables to enjoy the local produce.
Expect oysters, mussels and salmon from the nearby loch, Scottish langoustines, venison and game from the surrounding glens and plenty of local ales.
Food stands will include Loch Fyne Oysters and Smokehouse, Makar Gin, Mhor Bakery, Great Glen Charcuterie, Isle of Skye Bakery, Gigha Halibut, Oban Chocolates and many more.
Fyne Ales will also be on hand to pour pints of beer made just along the road, while a wine and champagne bar will help wash down all the food on offer.
There will be food and drink workshops that people of all ages can join in and get to grips with processes behind making all the great food at the fair. If oysters and langoustines don’t pique youngsters’ interest then there will be plenty of children’s entertainment such as a climbing wall, bouncy castle and face painting.
Live music from Heron Valley, Ho Ro, Black Eyed Suzies and Dunoon Grammar School and Mid Argyll pipe bands will provide ample entertainment over the two days. Admission is free, although there will be a £3 parking charge which will go to local charities.
