Inveraray Primary School needs you

-

THERE is work to do at Inveraray Primary School.

The school eco committee is running a grounds day this Sunday May 21, and is inviting parents and friends of the school to do odd jobs around the grounds – from painting to weeding.

An audit of the school grounds held around Easter resulted in a list of jobs that needed to be done to keep the area in good order.

Realising the list was too lengthy for an eight-strong eco committee to handle, they remembered the support the school received from the community a few years back when in improving the pond area.

Head teacher Lynn Sinclair said: ‘We have a few big jobs to be done – putting together a new shed, rebuilding the rock garden and making it bigger, power washing the concrete planters and the bike shed in preparation for a new coat of paint, and painting all the wooden buildings to protect them from the weather, but there are lots of small jobs to be done too.

‘We are hoping that many hands will make light work and families and community members will come and help, even for an hour or two. Just bring your tools, some enthusiasm and a sandwich or two to contribute to the shared packed lunch, and support our eco committee make a difference for everyone at school and nursery.’
