Fyne time at festival – cheers!

-

THE CROWDS flocked to Cairndow for FyneFest 2017. Beer, food and music combined to create a recipe for relaxed fun in the stunning surroundings of Glen Fyne.

BEER, music and food topped the bill at one of the best and friendliest festivals on the calendar.

The odd heavy shower over the three-day festival of family fun didn’t dampen the atmosphere.

Now in its eighth year, the festival at the head of Loch Fyne offered around 200 different beers over the duration of the event.

From triple IPAs brewed only once a year to the best examples of British bitters, there was something for everyone.

In exchange for official beer tokens, revellers could enjoy a mix of cask and keg offerings from the best breweries in the UK and Europe.

Fyne Fest’s reputation as a place where the family can relax and have fun drew people from all over Scotland to Achadunan Farm, joined by visitors from the rest of the UK and Europe. Keeping the hungry hordes fed, stallholders provided a mouth-wateringly diverse range of quality food, much of it locally produced.

Music is as much a part of FyneFest as the beer and food, with the FyneFest team scouring Scotland to bring together an eclectic line-up of bands to get feet tapping and dancers dancing.

Jamie Delap, managing director of of the event’s organisers Fyne Ales, said: ‘This year’s festival was the biggest in FyneFest history and, based on the feedback we had from attendees across the weekend, it was probably also the best.

‘The weather was kind to us for the most part, which certainly helps enhance the atmosphere in the arena.’

He added: ‘A huge thank you goes to everyone who was part of this year’s event.

‘Same time next year?’
