Council kirked
NEWLY elected Argyll and Bute councillors took part in a kirking ceremony in Inveraray.
THE KIRKING of Argyll and Bute Council took place on Sunday June 18 at Glenaray and Inveraray Parish Church.
The service, to inaugurate the new term, was conducted by the Rev Dugald Cameron, moderator of the presbytery of Argyll.
Councillors and senior officers were present along with the past provost Billy Petrie, Lord Lieutenant Patrick Stewart and invited guests. Readings were given by Provost Len Scoullar and Councillor Lorna Douglas.
The last Kirking of the Council was in Rothesay in 2012.
