Popular transport service seeks volunteers

-

THERE is more to Mid Argyll’s voluntary transport service than you might imagine.

Already well known for its excellent transport service for anyone over 60 or disabled who needs a lift to and from hospital appointments, Mid Argyll Transport Volunteers (MATV) is keen to let people know that it offers much more besides.

Friendly, helpful and experienced drivers can also help you to visit family and friends, attend hairdressing appointments, go to classes or perhaps the library, and may even assist in getting you to the shops and back. MATV, which recently benefited from a donation courtesy of the Coop community fund, is helping scores of people throughout Mid Argyll to get on with their daily lives.

Volunteer drivers

So popular are its services that more volunteer drivers are needed around the region, particularly in the Inveraray and Furnace areas.

As well as drivers, people are also needed who would be willing to help with the general running of the group. Call 01546 603564 to find out more about the services offered by MATV or to offer your services as a volunteer.
