Thought for the Week

I LOVE to hear of a dog finding a good home and so enjoyed the story of Whisper.

Whisper’s owner had died and he needed someone to continue to love him and care for him.

He is no pup himself so he wants someone who understands the needs of an older dog.

Whisper is a Corgi and was fortunate to already know someone who adores the breed.

It is no secret that the Queen has a real love for this breed and many have been her friends throughout different stages of her life.

Whisper’s owner had been a groundskeeper for the royal household and, when he died, the Queen just couldn’t resist the little dog.

The Queen had said that she wouldn’t take in any more pups for, like many dog owners, she said she would worry about what would happen if they outlived her. But she just couldn’t resist this older dog. However, it’s interesting to think that Whisper doesn’t know that he will live in a palace and be looked after by a monarch.

He doesn’t have any concept of his surroundings or the status of his owner.

Whisper will just know that he is loved, and that’s really all that matters. Is it not?

Love knows no difference between rich and poor, has no hierarchy, has no boundaries.

Love is love, and has no concept of class or status.

So I hope Whisper will settle happily into his new home, and we know that the Queen will love him just because she does.

He has found a good home and actually the fact that it is in a palace is incidental – for it is the love that counts.

It always is.
