Inveraray are crowned Division Two champions

- Marine Harvest South Division 2

INVERARAY finished the season in style winning the Marine Harvest South Division 2 following a victory over Dunoon.

The champions lifted the trophy at their home ground of Winterton Park after a 2-0 win.

Having secured the league title the previous week, Inveraray were able to finish on a high, going unbeaten through the entire league season.

Inveraray team manager Graham Macpherson said: ‘We have put out a team every week filled with a mixture of youth and experience.

‘We also have an ex- citing crop of youngsters coming through. Young Campbell Watt and Lewis Cameron in particular have both had a fantastic first full season.

‘It’s been great to see the whole team develop. We are now very much looking forward to next season in South Division 1.’

The trophy and medal presentati­on was made by Marine Harvest business support manager Steve Bracken.

He said: ‘I was delighted to present Inveraray with the Marine Harvest South Division 2 trophy at the weekend.

‘They’ve had a fantastic 2017 season and I’d like to wish them the very best for next season.’

Jim Barr, president of the Camanachd Associatio­n, added: ‘Congratula­tions to Inveraray on winning South Division 2.

‘Inveraray have been in fantastic form and have gone through the entire league season unbeaten.

‘We’d like to wish them all the best for next season.’
