Elite Scots athletes come to Loch Fyne
AN ARGYLL spa resort became the temporary training base for two international athletes in October.
Scotland and Team GB athletes Lindsey Sharp and Andrew Butchart decided to come to Argyll to enjoy a peaceful break while taking advantage of quiet roads for training.
The couple visited Portavadie, where they were able to make use of the resort’s training facilities while relaxing and having fun.
Scottish record holder Lynsey, aged 27, won 800m gold in the 2012 European Championships. The Dumfries-born athlete is the daughter of former Scottish sprint star Cameron Sharp, while mum Carol was herself an international-class 800m runner.
Long distance runner Andrew, from Dunblane, is the current Scottish record holder at 3,000m and 5,000 metres.
