Strathlachlan trial to support cancer care
SHEPHERDS will gather on the shores of Loch Fyne this weekend to compete in a popular sheepdog trial while raising charity funds.
Strathlachlan charity sheepdog trail is raising funds for Marie Curie, which provides care and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families. Organiser Catherine MacDiarmid said: ‘This is a fun day for local handlers to run their nursery dogs and their open trial dogs, while also raising funds for charity.’
There will be a variety of home baking along with homemade soup and stovies. There will also be a small auction and a chance to win a bottle of whisky at the hotly-contested ‘toss the pound’ competition. This trial will be held on Sunday November 5 between 8.30am and 5pm. Catherine added: ‘It is open to the public, so come along and enjoy a great family day out.’
The trial is hosted by Strathlachlan Estate and will be held in the shadow of new Castle Lachlan, near Strachur.
