Lochgilphead remembers
THE MAILBOX on Lochgilphead’s Argyll Street has created a window display to commemorate Remembrance Day.
Geordie Rhodick, chairman of the Lochgilphead Armed Forces Day committee and his wife Betty created the window in commemoration of the sacrifice of armed forces in wars past and present.
Also in the window are poems ‘Flanders Fields’ by John McCrae and Paul Hunter’s ‘I am not a Badge of Honour’.
This year’s Lochgilphead Remembrance ceremony has been jointly organised by Lochgilphead Community Council and the Armed Forces Day committee.
The parade will set off from Lochgilphead Parish Church at 10.45am on Sunday November 12 and will proceed to the town’s war memorial for a short service of remembrance. Soup and sandwiches will be served after in the parish church hall.
