Aron raises hundreds for children’s hospital charity

-

A YOUNG boy from Ardrishaig is raising money for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity as a thank you for the great care he received there when suffering from appendicitis. Twelve-year-old Aron Harris was admitted to the hospital in September with severe abdominal pain.

Raise money

After his operation to remove his appendix, he decided he wanted to raise money for the children who are treated in the hospital for serious illnesses.

Aron and his family have launched a Just Giving page and also held a coffee morning at the Red Cross hall in Lochgilphead on Saturday November 25, raising £455. They plan to hold a disco in the new year to raise more funds for the hospital.

Aron’s mum Ami Harris, said: ‘While Aron was in hospital he said to me himself, “Mum I want to raise money for the hospital.” The care he received was fantastic, and the nurses are great.

‘There are also toys and PlayStations for all the patients and I thought money for those must come from donations.

Fundraisers

‘So we decided to hold a few fundraisers as a thank you to the hospital for all they have done for Aron and for all the other children there. A massive thank you goes out to everyone who came to the coffee morning and donated the cakes.

‘Everyone has been so generous.’
