SCOFF - Scotland’s newest and funniest film festival

-

SCOFF, the first edition of Scotland’s only comedy film festival, will take place at Campbeltown Picture House from Friday 11th – Sunday 13th May 2018. The newly restored cinema, with its second screen, café bar and education room will host screenings, live events, workshops, a pop up bar and more during SCOFF. Dave Johns, stand up comic, writer and star of award-winning I, Daniel Blake will headline the live programme with his hit one man show I, FILLUM STAR about his extraordinary experience in the film world. He’ll also share his DESERT ISLAND FILMS with fellow comedian Vladimir McTavish. BUNKERED! features handpicked films from the archives featuring Scottish comedy favourites from Harry Lauder to Francie & Josie, with live performance from world-class singer, BBC presenter and Lauder expert, Jamie MacDougall. A sell-out wherever it goes, SPONTANEOUS POTTER will see a brand new adventure magically improvised on the spot with live music. Two free workshops will help people make their own comic shorts and animations. The first custard pie was thrown on film the same year as the Picture House opened, and organisers are inviting people to join a giant custard pie splat during SCOFF too. Screenings will include new and vintage comedy, including Singalong Moana, Blazing Saddles, The Man in the White Suit, Bill Forsyth’s zero budget debut That Sinking Feeling, international hit Toni Erdmann and more, along with an ENCORE screening of musical Wind in the Willows starring Rufus Hound.
