Careless driving

AT AROUND 6.15pm on Monday April 16 on the A83 near Erines, Tarbert, a black Honda Civic car was seen to be driven in a careless manner.

The car was stopped by police and a 26-yearold man who was driving was charged with the offence, and issued with a £100 fixed penalty ticket with three penalty points.

On the A816 near Bridgend, Lochgilphe­ad, at around 1.35pm on Tuesday April 17, a green Land Rover was seen to be driven in a careless manner.

The car was stopped by police and a man aged 52 was charged with the offence, issued with a £100 fixed penalty ticket with three penalty points.

At around 2.40pm on Tuesday April 17 on the A83 near Furnace, a white Volvo was seen to be driven carelessly. The car was stopped by police and the man aged 75 was charged with the offence. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Bus shelter damaged

BETWEEN 6pm on Thursday April 12 and 8am on Friday April 13, the bus shelter on the Lochgilphe­ad-bound side of the A83 at the junction with Cairndow had two glass panels smashed.

Police are investigat­ing the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any informatio­n to contact them on 101 or anonymousl­y through Crimestopp­ers on 0800 555 111.

Drugs discovered

A 46-YEAR-old man was stopped and searched by police at around 3.10pm on Tuesday April 17 on Lochnell Street, Lochgilphe­ad.

The man was allegedly found in possession of cannabis and cocaine. He was charged with offences and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Vehicle seizure

ON TUESDAY April 17 at about 3.10pm at Tower View, Inveraray, a motorcycle allegedly made off from police and failed to stop when signalled.

The vehicle and rider were traced nearby and checks revealed that the motorcycli­st allegedly had no licence for the bike.

The motorcycli­st, a 20-year-old man, was charged with the offences and the bike was seized. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

About 9pm on Tuesday April 17 on Bishopton Road, Lochgilphe­ad, a van was stopped by police for a routine check. Checks revealed that there was allegedly no insurance in force for the vehicle and the driver, a 33-year-old man, was charged with the offence and the vehicle was seized. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Speeding motorist

ON THE A83, in Inveraray at around 7.30pm on Tuesday April 17 a motorist was stopped for exceeding the speed limit.

The vehicle was carrying passengers in a dangerous manner and various vehicle defects were found. The 22-year-old male driver was charged with the offences and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Abusive behaviour

IN UNION Street, Lochgilphe­ad, at about 1.20pm on Wednesday April 18, a man aged 54 behaved in an abusive manner. Following police inquiries, the man was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Driving while using phone

POLICE stopped a car on Lochnell Street, Lochgilphe­ad, on Wednesday April 18 at around 3.15pm as the driver, a man aged 50, was driving while using his mobile phone.

The man was charged and a £200 fixed penalty ticket with six penalty points was issued.

Possession of drugs

ABOUT 7.10pm on Wednesday April 18, on the A83 near Lochgair, a car was stopped and searched and a 31-year-old man was found to be in possession of a small quantity of cannabis and cocaine.

The man was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Abusive behaviour and assault

ON THURSDAY April 19 at around 7.30pm in the Avenue, Inveraray, a man aged 38 allegedly behaved in an abusive manner and assaulted a youth. On completion of police inquiries, the man will be charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

AT AROUND 10.50pm on Saturday April 21, in Lochnell Street, Lochgilphe­ad, a man aged 34 allegedly behaved in an abusive manner. The man was arrested, charged and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.
