Our Maritime Skills course combines SQA and RYA / MCA certification so you’ll receive a comprehensive introduction to the maritime industries, as well as gaining internationally recognised certificates. The combination of shore based studies and practical activities afloat and will give you an insight into workings of the maritime industries including commercial sea fishing, the Royal Navy, the Merchant Navy, Maritime Search and Rescue, marine leisure / sailing, aquaculture, or ports and harbour industries.
Our full time NC Art and Design course will give you experience of working in a variety of disciplines within Art and Design. You’ll have the chance to experiment with a range of media and work with a number of tutors. We’ll introduce Analytical and Life Drawing, Ceramics, Location Drawing, Photography, 3D Development, Illustrative Sculpture, and Animation. The course consists of a mixture of practical and theoretical elements and includes lectures, visiting guest artists and visits to exhibitions.
As a partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands we also give you access to over 50 degree and post-graduate programmes. The professional Graduate Diploma in Education is available for both Primary and Secondary routes, in English and Gaelic Medium. The PDGE consists of 18 weeks study in our Oban Learning Centre plus 19 weeks of work placements in schools close to your home.
