Health and social care staff recognised in expanded awards

Social Care Worker of the Year: Richard Gault – Mental Health Social Care Worker, Dunoon.
Admin Secretarial Worker of the Year: Caroline Walton – Admin Support Officer, Oban.
Support Worker of the Year: Leanne Wallace – Domestic Assistant, Cowal.
Pat Tyrrell Award for Caring Behaviours: Betty MacIntyre – Midwife, Oban.
Chief Officer’s Outstanding Contribution to Health Social Care: Avril Coffield – Health Care Assistant, Campbeltown.
Outstanding Individual: Jane Williams – Local Area Manager, Isle of Bute.
Outstanding Team – Argyll and Bute Radiography.

‘Our first excellence awards were held last year for nurses and midwives. Because it was so successful, we decided to make the awards an annual event and to expand it so that we could recognise all the staff working for the HSCP.
‘I was again really delighted by the high standard and the number of nominations we received and by the really positive comments that our staff received from the people nominating them.
‘My colleagues and I had the very difficult decision of going through all the nominations and choosing the winners.
‘I would therefore like to congratulate ARGYLL and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) held its Staff Excellence Awards on Friday April 27 to recognise exceptional health and social staff who have performed over and above expectations.
