David signs up for his second marathon

-

DAVID MACINNES has entered the ballot for the 2019 London Marathon after storming to the finish line in the soaring heat in this year’s race.

The 30-year-old dad of two is hoping to run the marathon again for Anthony Nolan, after raising more than £4,500 for the charity this year.

The charity is one that is close to his heart, after he donated stem cells to a Leukemia patient. The receiver of the stem cell donation has since made a full recovery from his illness.

The parents of the patient who received David’s stem cells have commented on his JustGiving page saying: ‘David, thank you for your gift. We still have our son and the family have a brother, husband and father for his children.

‘You are fantastic, you live your life and make a difference.’

The receiver’s brother has also left an anonymous donation, saying: ‘Well done David, for all that you have done and are doing.

‘You have saved my brother’s life - strong words true. Without you he wouldn’t be here and we wouldn’t be the same family. Thank you.’

David ran the race in a time of four hours, 46 mins and two seconds in what was estimated to be the hottest London Marathon in history.

Despite feeling dizzy and nauseous following his mammoth journey through the streets of London, David is prepared to do it all again next year.

His JustGiving page is still live. If you would like to donate, go to justgiving. com/fundraising/david-macinnes.
