Argyll MP meets Holocaust survivor

At the launch of Holocaust Memorial Day 2019, Argyll and Bute MP Brendan O’Hara listened to Joan Salter MBE, a survivor of the Holocaust, describe how at the age of three she was forced to flee from Europe and travel to America in 1943 without her parents.

Holocaust Memorial Day, the theme for which in 2019 is ‘Torn from home’, is held on January 27 each year and remembers the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust and the millions killed under Nazi persecution. The date marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
