Could you provide a home for Alfie?

Medical fees

Meet Alfie. The seven-year-old cairn terrier from Oban fell ill last month and his owner, who is disabled, was unable to continue caring for the pooch.

After raising £1,050 for his care, Justine Swan, who is currently caring for Alfie, the Cairn Terrier Rescue UK stepped in and has agreed to pay for his medical fees for the rest of his life.

Justine said: ‘The problem is he needs to find a full-time foster, or even better, a full-time forever home.’

Justine described the ideal home as being with someone who can spend a lot of time with Alfie, take him on lots of short walks, and have a garden.

Justine added: ‘He is the most lovely, most loving boy ever. Alfie travels like a saint in the car, he loves people, is great with children and other dogs and cats.’

The cairn terrier loves company and Justine thinks he would benefit from having another dog in the family. ‘If I cannot succeed in finding Alfie a home, there will be no other option but to have him put to sleep and I cannot stand back and let this happen.’

Talking about his medical care, Justine said: ‘Alfie needs insulin twice daily, a strict diet and regular exercise.’

Justine is asking anyone who is interested to message her on Facebook or email editor@ argyllshireadvertiser.co.uk.
