11. 30am - Rosemary Goring: Scotland: Her Story: The Nation’s History by the Women Who Lived It; brings to life the half of history that has for too long been forgotten or ignored!

1.30pm - Donald S. Murray: As the Women Lay Dreaming; a deeply moving novel of the Iolaire disaster, about passion constraine­d, coping with loss and a changing world. It explores how a single event can so dramatical­ly impact communitie­s, individual­s and indeed, our very souls.

3pm - Melanie Reid: The World I Fell Out Of; on Good Friday, 2010, journalist Melanie Reid fell from her horse, breaking her neck, and fracturing her lower back. This is an unflinchin­gly honest memoir and a reminder that at any moment life can be turned upside down.

7pm - A tasting of Kintyre’s very own gin from the Beinn an Tuirc Distillery Followed at 7:30pm by Freeland Barbour: The White Rose of Gask: The Life and Songs of Carolina Oliphant, Lady Nairne; Freeland is one of Scotland’s leading accordioni­sts and he writes about his ancestor, who wrote more than 80 songs including the iconic ‘Charlie Is My Darling’ yet never acknowledg­ed her authorship. Freeland is joined by actress Gerda Stevenson, to bring to life some of Lady Nairne’s traditiona­l songs.
