Skerryvore ready to rock Inveraray Castle next June
Scottish supergroup Skerryvore are partying at Inveraray Castle next year.
The band, just home from a world tour, will celebrate their 15th anniversary with a one-day festival at the castle on Saturday June 6.
This week 5,000 tickets went on sale, with loyal fans getting first grabs a day early before Tuesday's (December 10) general release. There will also be a limited number of VIP tickets giving guests an exclusive tour of the castle and early entry to a reception hosted by the band.
Skerryvore have branded the exclusive gig 'XV' and to match the number of years notched up, will be welcoming 15 special guests and acts who they have worked with over the past decade-and-ahalf. Castle fits that bill,' he said, adding: 'We’re really excited about bringing so many friends and bands onto the stage with us and we can’t wait for everyone to experience what we promise will be our most spectacular show to date.'
Fans have been waiting for months for the big reveal after the band dropped a 'Save The Date' earlier this year.
Even before Inveraray Castle was announced, flights from America and Europe were being booked to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
'On tour we've been telling everyone to come to Scotland for June 6. We said if they got to Glasgow or Edinburgh, they wouldn't be too far away,' added band member Alec Dalglish.
Two lucky American fans even got their air fares paid for by the band as a competition prize to get them to the unmissable party. To make it easy for everyone else to get there, event organisers have also partnered with EventConnect to provide a special XV Express bus service to take revellers from Glasgow, Oban, Dunoon and Lochgilphead directly to the festival site and back again at the end of the night.
For those wanting to stay over, there will also be room in the castle grounds for tents and campervans.
