Competing with the ladies no handicap for Eilidh

-

Last week saw the final rounds of two competitions for the ladies at Lochgilphead Golf Club.

On Tuesday September 15 the last round of the nine-hole eclectic competition was won by Kathleen Young with 19 points, but the overall winner of the six rounds was junior girl Eilidh Flanagan with a fantastic 28 points.

This is Eilidh’s first year playing with the ladies and she chose to play off a 36 handicap to allow her to compete in the competitions. She not only won this competition but has also reduced her handicap. Club members have no doubt that hers is a name they will be seeing on more winning lists in the future.

The other final was the Ladies Charity Cup. This is played over four rounds and the winner chooses the charity to which the entry fees are donated. The winner on the day with 19 points was Jane Hepburn, who was also overall winner with 25 points. Jane started the season well and fell away a wee bit but came back for a fantastic finale.

Jane has chosen Blood Cancer UK to receive the funds so a cheque for £155 is on its way to it.

The gents, meanwhile, played the September Medal which was won by Andy Law with 62 strokes, beating Alex MacAulay by one.
