FETCHA CHOCOLATES

-

Campbeltown local Fiona McArthur is the chocolatier behind Fetcha Chocolates who started the business three years ago when she noticed a gap in the market for delicious, luxury chocolates that were suitable for allergy sufferers and were not wrapped in plastic.

With a degree in Environmental Conservation, Fiona is passionate about keeping the business eco-friendly, so wherever possible, all the ingredients are organic and palm oil-free. She also plants trees through Ecologi UK thus making her new Main Street shop one of the most eco-friendly chocolate shops in the UK.

While being eco-friendly is in itself a unique selling point, Fiona goes one step further and makes chocolates that are some of the most allergen-free on the market. All of the chocolates available are dairy-free, gluten-free, sesame-free, peanut-free, and most are soy-free too. Her reasoning behind this being ‘no one should have to miss out on chocolates just because of dietary restrictions’.

Fiona listed her business highlights since launching Fetcha Chocolates as ‘being asked to provide chocolates for the Oscars goody bags this year and having my advent calendars featured in The Sun’s ‘Top 10 best advent calendars’ last year’.

She was also delighted to have been asked by the producers of Dragon’s Den to take part in their show, which she politely declined…maybe next year, she thinks.

For the future, Fiona is keen to include more locally-sourced ingredients in her chocolates and recently has launched new chocolates featuring Springbank, Glengyle, Glen Scotia, Watt whisky, and Kintyre Gin and intends to broaden the range of sea-salted chocolates made using Islay based Orsay Sea Salt.
