Lochaber Chamber AGM - reflecting on success, paving the way forward

Conscious Consumption and Sustainability Event

Last week saw an engaged audience from local businesses gather to explore practical ways to make their operations more eco-friendly.

The event was run in partnership with Highland Community Waste Partnership (HCWP) and the Climate Springboard Programme. Together they unveiled strategies for businesses to reduce waste, cut costs and work towards net zero. Sustainability is key to the work of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce and it was encouraging to see so many businesses come along to find out more about the support on offer.

Fort William Masterplan 2040

It’s certainly been a busy time for events at Lochaber Chamber! We rounded off the month with our regular networking lunch. Our regular lunches provide a valuable opportunity for Chamber members to connect, share insights, and explore different business topics. March’s lunch focused on the Fort William 2040 Masterplan. This exciting development plan is poised to reshape the town centre into a thriving community space that reconnects the town with the lochside. Programme Manager Ali Martin set the scene and the talented architects from Threesixty architecture gave an overview of their approach. If you haven’t had a chance to look at the plans yourself, you can find them online at www.lochaberchamber.co.uk.

It’s been a packed month, and as we look forward to the new business year Lochaber Chamber remains committed to empowering businesses, fostering connections and championing a thriving west coast community.
