Combined Covid-19 cases across county hits 4,500
THE number of recorded coronavirus cases in Derbyshire has risen to 4,587 – including Derby city.
At first glance this looks like a massive increase from the previous week when the figure was much lower.
However, the increased figure is because the number of recorded positive cases was adjusted across the country last Thursday by the Government.
The Government’s daily updates now show a combined figure for testing in all settings, including hospitals, care homes and in the community.
The number of recorded cases in Staffordshire was 3,659 at the same date.
At the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, 517 people have now died with Covid-19 since the pandemic started.
And at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, the number of people who have died is 131.
These figures are correct as of the week commencing Monday, July 6.
