MP in meeting to speed up broadband action
ASHBOURNE’S MP Sarah Dines turned her attention to rural broadband provision last week by taking part in a virtual meeting with the leaders ers of a council-run scheme.
Ms Dines met with representatives of Digital Derbyshire, which is tasked with overseeing Derbyshire County Council’s roll-out of fast broadband and digital connectivity in the county.
She said the meeting was “innformative and useful” and that at she had already raised the issue in Parliament.
Ms Dines, pictured, said: “A A lot of constituents raise their concerns on digital connectivity in Derbyshire Dales and I am determined that, by working with Government and Digital Derbyshire, we can build on the good work already taking place ce and tackle this issue going forward. I have raised this directly with ministers on the floor of the House of Commons and will continue to do so so.
“D “Digital connectivity is more important now than ever before.
“So am raising individual concerns when constituents contact me, so if y you have poor broadband in your area please do contact me and I will always do my best bes to help,.
Ms Dines said she was working closel closely with Digital Derbyshire to tackle the issue of poor br broadband connectivity and had asked for a full report from the organisation on the work it had completed and its plans fo for the coming months. She added: “No one sho should be left with poor broadb broadband connectivity.”
