Three inmates on the run after absconding from jail

A TRIO of criminals have absconded from HMP Sudbury – one of whom is a man convicted of manslaught­er.

Officers from Derbyshire Police have issued a warning after the three men left the prison on Saturday.

They have also released pictures of all three men with a descriptio­n and are urging the public not to approach them.

The first of the absconders is Lewis Daniel Thornton,

29, who was convicted of manslaught­er at Wolverhamp­ton Crown Court in 2016.

He is white, 6ft 2in and has blue eyes, brown hair and is of thin build.

On his right wrist,

Thornton has a ‘RIP Cobra’ tattoo, with ‘Angel’ tattooed on his left arm.

Thornton has links to the Wolverhamp­ton and Walsall areas and the public should not approach him.

Daniel Gerald Ferris is another of the absconders.

The 30-year-old was convicted at Birmingham Crown Court of robbery in 2018.

Ferris is white, with blue eyes, brown hair and is of medium build.

Ferris has links to the Birmingham area and the public should not approach him.

The final absconder is

Rory Allen. The 33-yearold was convicted of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin at Worcester Crown Court in 2018.

Allen is black, 6ft 2in and has brown eyes, black hair, a black moustache and is of thin build.

Allen has ‘Tug’ tattooed on his right arm and has links to the Birmingham, Walsall and Wolverhamp­ton areas. He should not be approached by members of the public.

Anyone who sees, or knows where any of the men are, is asked to call Derbyshire police immediatel­y on 101, quoting reference 906 of December 5.
