Young Ideas takes over empty store to clear stock

-

ASHBOURNE-BASED fashion store Young Ideas is taking over one of the town’s biggest empty shops to offer a temporary “sale room” to help clear its stocks.

The family-owned retail group, which has its main premises in the Green Man complex in St John Street, is opening a pop-up shop tomorrow, in the former Edinburgh Woollen Mill building in Horse and Jockey Yard.

The new designer sale room is being given a facelift ahead of Young Ideas moving in, with a newly-decorated interior and exterior to improve the appearance of the property.

Young Ideas owner Anne Wright said: “We are delighted to be opening this new temporary store. Sadly, Ashbourne has several empty shop units in prominent locations and we are pleased to be refurbishing and occupying one of these units during the summer months.

“We are hopeful Ashbourne town centre will see a strong bounce back after a long and disruptive period of closures.

“Traders in the town are looking forward to what we anticipate will be a busy summer period with the boost in staycation in the uk.

“This store will offer locals and visitors a fabulous range of designer fashion at bargain prices and will rival some of the best discount boutiques to be found in designer outlet centres such as Bicester, Cheshire Oaks and Cannock.

“We are hoping the store will soon be established as an exciting destination.

“The new store will be led by our manager Lizzie and her team who will be offering the renowned high standards of Young Ideas customer service.”

Brands on offer in the store will include Armani, Belstaff, Paul Smith, Moschino, Ugg, Barbour and Calvin Klein.

Mrs Wright says the discounts will range from 50% up to 70%.

The Young Ideas group’s flagship store in St John St, which is run alongside sister stores in Derby and Lichfield, will continue to trade as normal, as will the firm’s website.
