Christmas events will bring giveaways, festive fun and music
A SERIES of Derbyshire Christmas events is being staged by a local charity to raise money for supporting people in need.
The Christian support organisation River Network Charity will be touring Derbyshire, putting on a series of what it refers to as “Christmasfests” throughout the next few weeks.
The first stop on the Christmasfest tour will be at Buxton Palace Hotel, on Sunday, December 5, with giveaways, festive fun and music.
On Sunday, December 12, the next event will be held at the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield and then on Saturday, December 18, the event will move to Spondon Village Hall before rounding off with a final event in the Grand Pavilion, Matlock Bath, on Sunday, December 19. All events begin at 6pm.
The Riverside Network Charity offers information, guidance, signposting and support services to projects including youth work, foodbanks, education, homeschooling and housing.
The locations it works in include Matlock, Alfreton, Chesterfield, Ashbourne, Glossop, Buxton and Derby.
CEO Terry Eckersley said: “We are excited and looking forward to our annual Community Christmasfests. It’s a great opportunity for us to welcome people, families and whole communities.
“These events are free with amazing gifts and giveaways.
“This is a great opportunity to introduce and consolidate our relationships with the community.
“You don’t want or need to miss a local Christmasfest, there are free giveaways, toys, food hampers, turkeys, cash card prizes and a special flat screen tv - with fun competitions, music and much more.”
