Naive man put sex videos of women on porn website

DEFENDANT ASHAMED OF HIMSELF, COURT TOLD

A DOVERIDGE man used an international porn site to upload sexual videos of two women without their knowledge, a court heard.

Luke Talbot, an employee at Alton Towers, put the clips online up to a year ago and it was not until a friend of one of the women found the footage that his offending was discovered.

Derby Crown Court also heard the 33-year-old father of one could offer absolutely no explanation as to why he did it.

Samuel Lownes, his barrister, said: “The offence itself is rather a strange one and Mr Talbot himself has not really been able to explain himself why he did it.

“In his own words he was ‘stupid, young and immature’ and it is clear it is a grave error of judgment on his part.

“He has been able to reflect on what he has done and accepts the hurt he has caused by his actions.

“He is ashamed and disappointed with himself, he wishes he could take it back.”

Mark Achurch, prosecuting, said Talbot uploaded the videos of the women to a pornographic website.

He said the first victim was told by a friend there was an explicit clip of her on the site and so she accessed it and found it. The prosecutor said Talbot’s user name was “sexy, h***y, 22” and through that, it led to the identification of a second woman who the defendant had also put a sexual movie of online.

In victim impact statements, the first said when she realised how many people may have viewed it or downloaded it she was “shocked at what she learned” and that it led to panic attacks.

The second woman, in her statement, said she too was “shocked” at quite how many people may have looked at the explicit video of her.

Mr Achurch said: “As I understand it, it is one of the largest pornographic websites available online.”

Mr Lowne said: “There are a number of character references, his father sits in court and clearly he is held in high regard by his family and friends.

“He has a 10-year-old daughter and has just accepted a three-year apprenticeship at Alton Towers where he has worked for the past five years.

“Once he has completed that he will hold the equivalent of an engineering degree.”

An Alton Towers Resort spokesperson said: “On being alerted to the legal hearing, our team acted swiftly and have immediately suspended the employee pending an investigation. The court case is unrelated to their employment with us.”

Talbot, of Derby Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs with intent to cause distress and has one unrelated previous conviction from ten years ago.

Judge Nirmal Shant QC, Honorary Recorder of Derby, handed him a 12-month jail sentence, suspended for two

years.

As part of it he must attend 20 rehabilitation sessions and a 43-day offender programme.

“He was also ordered to pay £340 costs.

The judge said: “You effectively made their private moments available to the world because you put them on the internet.”
