Sally’s salon shines spotlight on top stylists

-

AWARDS have been given out to employees of an Ashbourne-based hairdressing firm which is looking ahead to a year of growth after emerging from the pandemic.

Sally Montague Hair Group, which has seven salons across Derbyshire, including a flagship salon and spa in Horse and Jockey Yard, invited all its employees to a glitzy award ceremony and presentation to shine a spotlight on team members from across the business.

Before the awards, there was an annual general meeting where five guest speakers from L’oreal Professionnel gave motivational talks, luxury brand presentations and industry forecasts, before Sally Montague herself reviewed the past year and looked ahead to 2022 in her presentation.

Following the event, she said: “We are always so thrilled to bring the seven salons together to inspire and recognise everyone’s efforts over the past year.

“Our focus has always been on the consistent eduction and expertise of our entire team, and that was the focus of my presentation and our top priority for 2022.

“Post-covid the world has changed, and we announced new flexible team benefits such as a ‘duvet day’, ‘swap a Saturday’ and extra holiday dates, as well as exciting new courses and specialist education. “I’m also looking forward to growing the team this year across each of the existing salons, from apprentices through to more senior managers and every position in between.

“It was wonderful to reward those individuals who I have worked with from five to 20 years and beyond, as well as those who have offered an amazing experience to our clients across each of the seven salons.”

The company asked both customers and team members to nominate those who have excelled in their role over the past year, with nine categories ranging from “The Positivity Award” to “Apprentice of the Year” and the “Future Growth Award”.

The top “Salon of the Year” prize for growth was awarded to the David Lloyd salon which opened in May 2019 and is located on Pride Park in Derby.

Longevity awards were given to those who have been with the company for over five, ten, 15 and 20 years.

There were lots of prizes and smiles all round – including five team promotions which were also announced at the event.
